MQB PERFORMANCE DOWNPIPE OVERVIEW
When upgrading your VW MK7 or Audi 8V A3 to stage 2 software you will also need to reduce the back pressure caused by the small diameter stock pipe. With the exhaust system flowing better performance gains be achieved. Turbo lag should also be reduced as an added benefit.

SOUND TUNING
An aggressive and drone-free sound will be emitted from the IE Cast Downpipe. This should be music to your ears! Our catalyst is also a very large diameter, allowing a large flow area and maximum power. By being placed close to the turbo, emissions and unwanted unpleasant smells are greatly reduced.

The IE downpipe replaces over 6 feet of restrictive factory exhaust tubing, all the way back to the OE “Cat-Back” rear section. STOCK DOWNPIPES ROB HORSEPOWER
Your 2.5T engine is capable of supercar level horsepower on the stock engine and turbo reliably with a Stage 2 Tune alone! However, the factory installed downpipe is designed for maximum emissions and economy, not for power. This design is riddled with small piping, harsh bends, and power sucking restrictions that limit your power gains to only Stage 1 Tune levels. In order to correct that, a true performance downpipe is required to open up the exhaust flow and allow the turbo to spin freely!
MAXIMUM FLOW DOWNPIPE
IE engineers set out to design the ultimate downpipe option for the 8V RS3 and 8S TTRS chassis by employing leading-edge development technology along with highly specialized cast manufacturing. By using cast sections this allowed our engineers to design specialized shapes into the downpipe itself that lets it conform and fit into very tight spaces while retaining it's large size and maximized flow rates. The design is so specialized that 3D scanning was used to build a digital model of the chassis to design in allowing us to build shapes down to the millimeter. This design is just not possible using traditional stainless steel pipes and bends found in most exhaust manufacturing.
Bolting this downpipe onto your Audi along with other matching bolt-ons and an IE STage 2 Tune results in up to 577 horsepower! You can take your RS3 or TTRS from a sporty driver to a power monster in a single weekend. Downpipe requires Stage 2 Tune for a complete installation.

The cast and CNC machined turbo flange is thick to prevent leaks or warping at the turbo while a quality flex section works to allow normal movement between the chassis and engine without adding strain to the downpipe.
IE's Y-Pipe Adapter Kit (sold separately) is used to adapt your IE Downpipe to a stock catback exhaust section. This high quality stainless steel cast adapter is a complete kit that will make installing our downpiep to your stock exhaust painless and easy! This part is not required if you are installing an IE Catback System.
BOLT-ON INSTALLATION
This downpipe kit bolts-on directly to either an IE Catback or stock catback (with adapter) with no permanent modifications or alterations to the vehicle. The removal of the factory downpipe is a very long process and is only recommended to be performed by a professional. DIY is not recommended for most on this product.
IE's Y-Pipe Adapter Kit is used to adapt either your IE Downpipe to a stock catback or your IE Catback to a stock downpipe. If you are using either of our exhaust components with a stock counterpart, this Y-Pipe Kit includes everything needed to make it an easy bolt-on solution.
CAST CONSTRUCTION
Using specialized 3D scanners and software, IE engineers can design odd shapes and sizes to maximize flow and conform into tight spaces without any sacrifices. These shapes can not be manufactured reliably from traditional piping, so we use a high quality stainless steel casting to realize the design. HIGH-FLOW VELOCITY STACK
Delivering cold air to your engine is a must for making power. The velocity stack efficiently channels air as quickly as possible into the intake system. The velocity also functions as a solid mount for the air filter which means no intake pipes rattling on heat shields.
CUSTOM HEAT SHIELD
IE uses a three piece heat shield which performs and looks great. It effectively channels cold air from the front of the car to the massive performance filter. Furthermore, it eliminates the induction of hot air found in other locations of the engine bay. A second heat shield is mounted above the turbocharger to further protect against power robbing heat off the exhaust and turbo.

This Intake fits B9 Audi A4 and A5 without any modification or installation hassles. The install process is simple and can be done quickly with basic tools. The fact that IE intake utilizes the factory airbox mounts ensures a perfect and hassle free fit. Additionally, the stock rubber mounts allow for engine movement which keeps intake components from getting damaged.

The following power result data was collected on our in-house Dynapack hub dyno. Dyno chart is as tested at 4500 feet altitude with SAE corrected numbers. Before and after results are direct back-to-back comparisons on a full bolt-on stage 2 B9 A4 2.0T engine. The only change made to the vehicle between testing is the swap from a stock intake with a new clean air filter to the IE Cold Air Intake Kit. Dyno power results are approximate and may vary from car to car.

ADVANCED SOUND TUNING
IE engineers elected to use a resonator in the B9 A4 & A5 exhaust. The result was a much better sounding exhaust overall. The factory cat back has a very unpleasant rasp when used with a downpipe which does not have a resonator. As IE engineers are true enthusiasts as well, it was very important that the exhaust also sounded great. Check out the video to hear stock vs. IE sound clips.

IE billet aluminum valve covers for the 2.0T FSI EA113 (timing belt driven) engines are a direct replacement for your factory valve cover for a clean updated look over the stock plastic valve cover. Designed as a perfect solution for a show-ready look or the base for your custom catch can project.
MACHINED DESIGN
Machined in-house from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum for an attractive one piece design with a matching oil filler cap to finish off the look. The IE billet valve cover is machined to accept the factory valve cover gasket, so there is no worry of oil leaks.

This valve cover design completely removes the factory PCV breather setup and will require a custom catch can kit or breather setup. IE complete catch can kits for the billet valve cover are available separately for select models (located in required hardware tab). To make setting up a custom breather or catch can kit easy, this valve cover features a single -10an breather outlet providing a simple start for a variety of fittings or hose ends. The breather outlet is located above an integrated baffle system to reduce oil escaping the breather outlet. These baffles are hand welded into the valve cover, ensuring they will not fail or fall into the cylinder head.
