WHAT DOES THE IE AUDI B9 ECU TUNE DO?

Your ECU (Engine Control Module) is a computer loaded with maps to control the operating conditions of your Audi 2.0T engine. The factory calibration is designed to function with stock installed hardware, meet new car regulated standards, and de-powered to not compete with higher performance models. IE's motorsport recalibration brings your engine to life by unleashing its full performance potential on stock hardware or to match your installed hardware upgrades while maintaining reliability and factory-like comfort. Product Details The ECS Billet Aluminum Manifold Port Boost Tap Kit conveniently adds three boost / vacuum ports to your Gen3 engine for any of your specific needs. Located on the left side of the intake manifold within the unused side intake port, this location provides a strong pneumatic signal and allows for an installation. Through multiple design revisions and product testing, our team of engineers found that other methods of acquiring a manifold signal, such as spacing the MAP / IAT sensor on top of the intake manifold, lead to skewed data being transmitted to the ECU. We found that intake air temperatures were reading lower (15-20° F at WOT), ignition timing was off (as much as -5°) and air /fuel ratio was richer (+1.0 point by 5,000 RPM). This directly translated into engine power dropping by as much as 6 WHP on an untuned vehicle! You can be certain that all critical data is not affected and your engine's ECU has all of its valuable information to properly adjust timing and fuel with our leading edge design! Engineered specifically for the Gen3 engine, we designed our Manifold Port Boost Tap with 3 ports, so you have multiple options to provide the strongest manifold signal to either your boost gauge, blow off valve, water meth switch or any other pneumatic device. IE’s Audi S4 (DL501 S-Tronic) DSG tune is all-inclusive and does not offer expensive upgrades. That’s right, there are no unnecessary upgrade charges and all features and upgrades are included at one low cost. A great deal of sportiness is added to the tune while maintaining factory smoothness and driveability that you love about the S4. More aggressive launches and faster shifts are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Also, expect acceleration and 0-60 times to improve dramatically from a larger useable powerband provided by the higher shift points. REQUIRED FOR SELECT ECU TUNES Required for S4 & S5 Stage 2 dual pulley files, your new transmission tune will no longer lug the engine in drive mode or short shift the larger powerband. Clutch clamping forces are increased so the transmission can safely handle and deliver the increased power and torque. DSG tune requires a matching ECU Tune, do not install on stock ECU tunes. ONE TUNE FOR ALL STAGES IE’s DSG tunes are all-inclusive without any expensive upgrades. That’s right, there are no unnecessary upgrade charges and all features are included from the outset for any level of hardware or ECU Tune Stage, one cost and you are covered for all and any future upgrades from Stage 1 to Stage 2 billion. USER ADJUSTABLE LAUNCH CONTROL The purchase of an IE DSG file grants you access to customization of launch points. With several launch points to choose from you can pick what works best for your setup! Available Launch Control RPMs: 3400 RPM 3600 RPM 3800 RPM 4000 RPM *Some early model B8 DSG TCUs cannot have launch control added to them, as well as some replacement Mechatronics units. Non compatible TCU codes include, but may not be limited to 8K1927156AC and 8K1927156AD. You can use your IE Powerlink tool to check your TCU code. Other DSG tune features will function normally. IE DSG TUNE TECHNICAL FEATURES HIGHER SHIFT POINTS Utilize the whole powerband of your supercharged 3.0T engine without the DSG interfering and shifting early. DRIVE MAPPING REWORKED The B8 and B8.5 S4 is designed to a fault to keep engine rpm extremely low in drive. We completely reworked this, creating a more enthusiast-friendly drive mapping which shifts a bit higher. This eliminates vibration and that constant feeling that you’re lugging the engine. We’ve reworked the downshifting aspect as well, making the transmission much quicker to deliver power when you need it. Thousands of miles of testing were accumulated and a variety of users were polled to come up with this improved drive mode. INCREASED CLUTCH PRESSURE Increasing the clutch pressure allows for the transmission to hold more torque without causing clutch damage or expedited wear. With the increased torque, the acceleration will be greatly increased and launches will far more aggressive. FLASHED THROUGH OBD-II PORT There’s no need to remove the TCU from the car and it can be flashed in your driveway or through an IE software dealer. Additionally, having an IE PowerLink cables means you can install updates are they become available as well as read TCU and ECU fault codes. TAKE-OFF LAG REDUCED The clutch engagement has been reworked to reduce that annoying “DSG Lag” when moving away from a stop. MULTIPLE LAUNCH RPMS The purchase of an IE DSG file grants you access to customization of launch points. With several launch points to choose from you can pick what works best for your setup!
