The Mk5/Mk6 ConsolePod™ holds two (2) 2” or 2 1/16” (52mm) gauges and mounts on underside of the center console. Made with a low-gloss finish, the ConsolePod is uniquely designed to allow you to use the storage compartment 12V power socket and angles the gauges upward towards the driver. The ConsolePod can be used for both LHD and RHD cars and comes with split loom tubing to cover and protect the gauge wires.

One of the most common failures on the 2.0T FSI engine is the factory pressure-relief valve. These valves are in place to recirculate crankcase gases into the intake manifold once they open. Although this works fine for a few thousand miles, they begin to leak over time and cause boost to go past the valve into the valve cover. This not only causes an oily mess in the engine bay from crankcase pressure, but a rough idle, fuel economy decline and boost loss. With boost pressure far below where it should be, it is common to notice significant power losses and poor drivability.

VW has encountered a problem with the FSI camshaft and cam follower that could lead to damage to your engine's cylinder head.

This small part can play quite a big role in your engine's well-being. It conveys the movement of your camshaft into power for the high pressure fuel pump by riding directly on the camshaft lobe.

 If it becomes worn to the point of breaking it can cause permanent damage to the camshaft, fuel pump, or both. It could also send metal particles into your cylinder head which can cause damage to moving parts. Without replacement, it is common for followers to have holes worn through them.

Replacing this follower as a form of preventative maintenance can save you from spending even more money and time replacing your fuel pump or camshaft from damage caused by a worn follower.
