KIT DETAILS

This complete filter kit uses a 3 step approach to combat harsh climates. The filter has been increased from a 6 pleat construction to 8 pleats to increase cotton density. The cotton pleats are then treated with a penetrating filter oil to further catch and trap particulates. As a final measure, a pre-filter sock adds a final layer of protection over the filter. Together, these 3 barriers offer superior filtration for your intake system over our standard performance air filter.

RECHARGING

As the air filter does its job of effectively catching more particulates, eventually it will have to be cleaned and maintained. We recommend washing your cotton filter in water with a little Dawn dish soap, rinsing thoroughly, and allowing it to completely air dry. To replace the oil, any off-the-shelf filter oil kit from your local auto parts supply chain can be used. Do not over-oil the filter, a little goes a long way.

DESIGN DETAILS

IE engineers set out to produce the highest performing cold air intake that looks great and fits like a factory installed part in your A4. The latest in computer design and 3D scanning technology were employed during the development process for a perfect fit and maximum performance. The final product resulted in the greatest performing and best-looking intake available.

HIGH-FLOW VELOCITY STACK

Delivering cold air to your engine is a must for making power. The velocity stack efficiently channels air as quickly as possible into the intake system. The velocity also functions as a solid mount for the air filter which means no intake pipes rattling on heat shields.

CUSTOM HEAT SHIELD

IE uses a three piece heat shield which performs and looks great. It effectively channels cold air from the front of the car to the massive performance filter. Furthermore, it eliminates the induction of hot air found in other locations of the engine bay. A second heat shield is mounted above the turbocharger to further protect against power robbing heat off the exhaust and turbo.

This Intake fits B9 Audi A4 and A5 without any modification or installation hassles. The install process is simple and can be done quickly with basic tools. The fact that IE intake utilizes the factory airbox mounts ensures a perfect and hassle free fit. DYNO POWER RESULTS

The following power result data was collected on our in-house Dynapack hub dyno. Dyno chart is as tested at 4500 feet altitude with SAE corrected numbers. Before and after results are direct back-to-back comparisons on a full bolt-on stage 2 B9 A4 2.0T engine. The only change made to the vehicle between testing is the swap from a stock intake with a new clean air filter to the IE Cold Air Intake Kit. Dyno power results are approximate and may vary from car to car.

One of the most common failures on the 2.0T FSI engine is the factory pressure-relief valve. These valves are in place to recirculate crankcase gases into the intake manifold once they open. Although this works fine for a few thousand miles, they begin to leak over time and cause boost to go past the valve into the valve cover. This not only causes an oily mess in the engine bay from crankcase pressure, but a rough idle, fuel economy decline and boost loss. With boost pressure far below where it should be, it is common to notice significant power losses and poor drivability.

The Integrated Engineering MK5/MK6 FDS intercooler system was built from the ground up to offer the ultimate in performance for your vehicle. When increasing the power output of your engine it is extremely important to ensure it has the proper cooling to match. It packs a very large intercooler core into the space available, a full 54% larger than the OEM core. With the exhaust system flowing better performance gains be achieved. Turbo lag should also be reduced as an added benefit. IE engineers guarantee a perfect fit by designing all IE downpipes in-house using the latest technology. Digital scanning is using to scan the entire environment which ensures that there is proper clearance and that all mounting points are in the correct location. POWER GAINS The most power gains will be achieved when the IE Downpipe is paired with IE matching software, air intake, and FDS intercooler. SOUND TUNING An aggressive and drone-free sound will be emitted from the IE Cast Downpipe. This should be music to your ears! Thick wall tubing and cast sections remove much of “tinny” sound emitted by cheaper, thin wall, downpipes. With downpipes, you get what you pay for in terms of sounds and overall manufacturing quality. HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTER IE’s performance downpipe includes a high-flow 200 cell per inch metal matrix catalyst located as close to the turbo as possible. Metal matrix catalysts are higher performance because the matrix web is thinner, allowing higher flow in the same size. Our catalyst is also a very large diameter, allowing a large flow area and maximum power. By being placed close to the turbo, emissions and unwanted unpleasant smells are greatly reduced. DIRECT BOLT-ON WITH PERFECT FITMENT The IE downpipe replaces over 6 feet of restrictive factory exhaust tubing, all the way back to the OE “Cat-Back” rear section.
