When you begin modifying your VW MK7/Audi MK3 Golf R, GTI, A3, or S3 it will become necessary to upgrade the intercooler. Once upgrades such as ECU tuning, exhaust systems, and turbo upgrades are introduced, intake air temperatures begin to rise, resulting in massive power loss.

With the exhaust system flowing better performance gains be achieved. Turbo lag should also be reduced as an added benefit. IE engineers guarantee a perfect fit by designing all IE downpipes in-house using the latest technology. Digital scanning is using to scan the entire environment which ensures that there is proper clearance and that all mounting points are in the correct location. POWER GAINS The most power gains will be achieved when the IE Downpipe is paired with IE matching software, air intake, and FDS intercooler. SOUND TUNING An aggressive and drone-free sound will be emitted from the IE Cast Downpipe. This should be music to your ears! Thick wall tubing and cast sections remove much of “tinny” sound emitted by cheaper, thin wall, downpipes. With downpipes, you get what you pay for in terms of sounds and overall manufacturing quality. HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTER IE’s performance downpipe includes a high-flow 200 cell per inch metal matrix catalyst located as close to the turbo as possible. IS YOUR STOCK INLET ROBBING POWER?

The factory installed plastic turbo inlet found installed on your VW or Audi Gen 3 1.8T or 2.0T TSI engine is adequate enough for stock cars with factory hardware and ECU calibrations. However, the necked down design becomes a major flow restriction when ran with power upgrades such as cold air intakes, intercoolers, downpipes, and ECU upgrades. 

UPGRADE YOUR TURBO INLET PIPE

The IE Turbo Inlet Pipe helps you to get the most out of your IS38 or IS20 turbo and power upgrades by removing the factory flow restriction. The cast aluminum design allows for a constant diameter elbow increasing efficiency from the intake to the turbo without the bottleneck design of the factory unit.
